Call for Papers

"Buddhism and Peace"
An anthology to be published by Blue Pine Books

Blue Pine Books invites submissions of papers on the topic
"Buddhism and Peace" for possible inclusion in an upcoming
publication of collected articles. The resulting book will
investigate peace and justice from the theoretical and
practical perspectives of the vast array of Buddhist
traditions. Within the frame of Buddhism and Peace,
submissions may address such issues as the individual and
peace, society and conflict resolution, scriptural bases
for/against engaged Buddhist practices, the vinaya and
peacemaking, historical examples of Buddhism and peace,
today's engaged Buddhism in historical context. From these
or similar points of reference, submissions should address
and contribute to the development of the theory and
practices of socially engaged Buddhism.

Blue Pine Books is a non-profit organization established to
distribute Buddhist teachings and to promote peace in the
world. We are committed to publishing quality academic

DEADLINE for submissions: August 31, 2006

GUIDELINES: Electronic submissions are acceptable in Word,
WordPerfect, PDF or HTML formats. Please use standard
academic style (Chicago or MLA). References must be cited in
full. Papers should be written primarily in English with
Asian citations in transliteration or Asian scripts.
