Call for Papers "Citizenship(s): Discourses and Practices" International Congress Fernando Pessoa University Porto (Portugal) 29 June - 1 July 2006
The Council of Europe announced that 2005 is the European Year of Citizenship through Education. The purpose is to think about citizenship as a concept and practice that covers the whole aspects of social and individual life, calling for citizens active and responsible participation in the organisation of a democratic social order. The International Conference organised by Universidade Fernando Pessoa seeks to discuss the multiple ingredients of citizenship, gathering several insights about what has been done and the challenges ahead.
