Call for Papers

"Citizenship(s): Discourses and Practices"

The Council of Europe announced that 2005 is the European
Year of Citizenship through Education. The purpose is to
think about citizenship as a concept and practice that
covers the whole aspects of social and individual life,
calling for citizens’ active and responsible participation
in the organisation of a democratic social order.
The International Conference organised by Universidade
Fernando Pessoa seeks to discuss the multiple ingredients of
citizenship, gathering several insights about what has been
done and the challenges ahead.

- Citizenship in a multicultural europe
- Citizenship and law
- Citizenship and economics
- Citizenship and media
- Citizenship and cultural consumption
- Citizenhsip and health
- Education for citizenship

If you wish to present a paper, please send an abstract
together with the following information:
1. Justified text
2. Title
3. Full name, address, e-mail, telephone/fax number
4. Institution
5. The abstract shouldn’t have more than 350 words (1 page)
