Call for Papers "Southern Perspectives on Development: Dialogue or Division?" DevNet Conference 2006 The Aotearoa New Zealand International Development Studies Network (DevNet), University of Otago Dunedin (New Zealand) 30 Nov - 2 Dec 2006 __________________________________________________ The southernmost university in Oceania provides a unique vantage point from which to consider the current debates in Development Studies and to promote the dialogue that is necessary to chart a firmer future. Such a dialogue can only succeed if it is truly inclusive of perspectives from the Global South. The aim of this three-day get together is to bring a variety of perspectives to bear on the intellectual and policy challenges faced by scholars and practitioners in the field of development. The Organising Committee is now calling for paper proposals for the Conference. Ideally, papers should address one or more of the panel themes listed below, but the organisers will consider any paper proposal with a clear development focus. Prospective paper presenters should indicate whether they are prepared to act as chair for one or more of the parallel sessions. Abstracts of papers should be e-mailed to <[email protected]> before or on 31 May 2006. Confirmation of acceptance will be distributed from 30 June 2006.
