Instructor of Humanities Position
The Philosophy Department at the University of Central Florida seeks a
full-time Instructor of Humanities beginning August 2007. Teaching load
is 8 courses per academic year, with the possibility of optional summer
teaching. 

The successful candidate must be able to teach core courses in our
Humanities general education program, emphasizing the philosophy,
religion, literature and art of different world cultures. In addition,
the successful candidate should be able to teach at least two of the
following courses: World Religions, Latin American Humanities, Modern
Humanities, Contemporary Humanities, Philosophy of Law. Ph.D. and at
least two years of full-time teaching experience at the post-secondary
level are required by time of application, as is the demonstrated
ability to successfully teach interdisciplinary Humanities courses, esp.
at the general education level. Ph.D. may be in any field relevant to
the Humanities, with a preference for candidates with training in
Religious Studies. Experience with web-based teaching, program
assessment and/or community outreach preferred.
