The Centre on Human Rights in Conflict in the School of Law
at the University of East London is seeking applications for
a Leverhulme Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to conduct
research, publications, and activities on the subject of:
Human rights and civil liberties in the context of the war
on terror. This is a ten-month position, to be taken up no
later than February 2008. Further particulars and

The Centre on Human Rights in Conflict (CHRC) is an
interdisciplinary centre promoting policy-relevant research
and events aimed at developing greater knowledge about the
relationship between human rights and conflict

part of a vibrant research community across the university
and has a growing number of contacts amongst other
universities and research institutes, NGOs and advocacy
groups based in London and elsewhere in the UK as well as
internationally. The School of Law has particular strengths
in international human rights law, international criminal
law, international economic law, Islamic law, land law,
refugee law, and terrorism. The Research Fellow would be
based within the Centre, but would engage with this wider
research community.

The University of East London has been granted two
Leverhulme Post-Doctoral Research Fellow positions for
