Call for Papers "Rethinking Philosophy Today" XXII World Congress of Philosophy International Federation of Philosophical Societies Korean Philosophical Association Seoul National University Seoul (Korea) 30 July - 5 August 2008 __________________________________________________ The XXII World Congress of Philosophy will be held from July 30 to August 5 at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. The first Congress to be held in Asia, the Seoul Congress will present an opportunity to rethink the nature, roles, and responsibilities of philosophy and of philosophers in this age of globalization. The Organizing Committee of the Korean Philosophical Association invites the submission of papers and proposals for the XXII World Congress of Philosophy. SUBMISSION OF PAPERS Papers in any area of 54 Regular Sections and for Student Session are welcome. The list of the Sections is provided below. E-Submission through the Congress website (http://www.wcp2008.or.kr) is strongly recommended. - Papers should be submitted in Windows-based Microsoft Word (*.doc) or Rich Text Format (*.rtf). - Each paper should be within 6 pages (1800 words), double-spaced, and A4-sized (210 x 297mm) with 1.5cm margins on all sides. - Each Paper should be accompanied by a 10-20 line of an abstract. The abstract should be written in English or in French. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept or not accept papers on the basis of criteria of quality. E-submission through the Congress website (http://www.wcp2008.or.kr) is strongly recommended. - Proposals for Round-Tables must clearly list the participants and their professional affiliations (universities, similar institutions or research institutes). - Round-Table participants must represent at least three different nationalities. - Only member societies of FISP can apply for Society Meetings. - Proposals for Society Meetings must specify the name of the society and the agenda. - All proposals should be submitted in Windows-based Microsoft World (*.doc) or Rich Text Format (*.rtf). - All proposals should be within 1 page (less than 600 words), single-spaced, and A4-sized (210x297mm) with 1.5cm margin on all sides. IMPORTANT DATES The deadline for paper submission is *November 1, 2007*. Papers received after this date, but before *February 15, 2008*, may be accepted if space is still available.
