Call for Applications Junior Fellowships in Cultural Sciences Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften (IFK) Vienna (Austria) __________________________________________________ Junior Fellowships are awarded to young doctoral students (35 years and under) at Austrian universities and hold an academic degree. The doctoral thesis must focus on an interdisciplinary research project within the realm of humanities and social sciences using methods and questions of cultural studies. A thematic link to the IFK's current research focus "The Cultural Paradoxes of Globalization" and "Cultures of Evidence. Reality in the Cultural Sciences" is desired but not a prerequisite for application. The IFK will also accept "independent" projects unrelated to the present research focus. IFK Junior fellowships consist of a monthly scholarship of 1.200,- and a workspace with computer and internet access at the IFK. Receipt of the scholarship is contingent upon in-residence status at the IFK for the duration of the award; more than a minor employment during the stay at the IFK is not possible. Candidates who are not residents of Vienna will receive financial aid of 370,- per month for accommodation. Costs for social and health insurance will not be covered by the IFK.
