The Department of Philosophy, University of Mumbai, and The Indian
Philosophical Congress extend a warm welcome to you for the
Afro-Asian Philosophy Association Conference 2010, to be held at
University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus, from 20-23 October 2010.
The objective of the conference is to foster mutual cooperation
between philosophers of the African and Asian continents, and also to
promote Afro-Asian philosophy to a better recognition within the
general philosophical community.
The general theme for the conference is:
"Moulding Individual and Corporate Life towards Social Solidarity
and Progress"
The theme echoes the idea that philosophy is not to be confined to
academic or philosophy-centric organizations only but ought to
permeate into the very fabric of society, institutional or personal.
In our increasingly complex world, it has become evident that
individual and corporate life needs to be founded on a solid
philosophical base of values if it is to reach its full potential and
function harmoniously with its surroundings.
