The Center for the Study of Citizenship at Wayne State University is
celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2013. For our anniversary
conference we invite you to submit an abstract for a paper that
discusses how your scholarship deepens understandings of the meaning
of citizenship.

The perspective of the conference, as always, is global,
interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary and proposals on any aspect
of citizenship studies are welcome from scholars working in any
discipline or interdisciplinary field. Preference will be given to
those papers that address the conference theme.

The best papers will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed
volume in the Wayne State University Press book series, “Citizenship
Studies,” edited by the Center’s director, Marc Kruman.

Abstracts of no more than 500 words are welcomed for consideration.
Proposals should be submitted to the Center’s Research Associate,
Helen Callow <[email protected]> along with a short biography
(50 words) no later than October 15, 2012. Both panel proposals and
individual submissions are welcome. Those interested in submitting
panel proposals can use H-Citizenship (http://www.h-net.org/~citizen)
to locate scholars with compatible interests.

Some scholarships will be available for international scholars to
help defray their travel costs. These funds will be distributed on a
competitive basis. Remote presentation of papers and remote
participation will also be available.

Questions should be directed to Marc W. Kruman <[email protected]> or
Helen Callow <[email protected]>.
