Call for Papers Theme: Decoloniality in Higher Education South Africa Type: Interdisciplinary Conference Institution: Black Management Forum Rhodes University Location: Grahamstown (South Africa) Date: 20.–23.3.2017 Deadline: 10.10.2016 __________________________________________________ From Ngithokozisa iThongo <[email protected]> The Black Management Forum – Provincial Student Chapter Committee of the Eastern Cape – seeks to bring together academics, students, government and business to discuss topical issues within the High Education Sector of South Africa. Interested parties are invited to submit short abstracts of no more than 500 words should they wish to present papers on these key areas of discussion. Papers are invited under the following thematic areas: 1. Africanising the South African Higher Education Sector 2. Defining Decoloniality in the South African Higher Education Landscape 3. Curriculum Reform in Higher Education South Africa 4. Historical lessons for Transformation in Higher Education South Africa 5. Higher Education Affordability for previously disadvantaged students 6. Protest action, the academic project and transformation in South African universities 7. Feasible fee structures for Higher Education in South Africa All abstracts are to be submitted to: [email protected] Deadline for Abstract Submissions: 10 October 2016 (before 12pm) Important Dates to Note: Authors of successful papers will be notified by the 31st October 2016 on the success of their abstracts. Successful authors are asked to prepare presentations of no longer than 20 minutes per paper. Authors who present strong papers will be invited to a writing retreat in April 2017, to prepare their papers for publication, in the same year.
