About the Project

The Geography of Philosophy Project is funded by the Templeton
Foundation. It studies diversity in people's conceptions of
understanding, wisdom, and knowledge around the world, and seeks to
promote cross-cultural research in cognitive science.

Its Principal Investigators are Edouard Machery (Pittsburgh), Stephen
Stich (Rutgers), and H. Clark Barrett (UCLA).

The Project has teams in eight regions: Eastern Europe, Ecuador,
India, Japan, Morocco, Peru, South Africa, and South Korea. It also
