Job Announcement Type: Lecturer in Comparative Non-Western Thought Institution: Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion, Lancaster University Location: Lancaster (United Kingdom) Date: from September 2022 Deadline: 10.6.2022 __________________________________________________ The Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Comparative Non-Western Thought. This is a full time, indefinite post, to start 1 September 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. You will have expertise in the comparative study of two or more of Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic and Chinese traditions of thought; and have research and teaching interests in contemporary issues across the broad disciplinary range covered in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. We are particularly interested in applicants who have specific interests in exploring these areas through gender, feminist, postcolonial, and/or de-colonial lenses. You will have an excellent profile in research and teaching appropriate to your career stage. You will have experience of teaching undergraduates and/or postgraduates, and the ability to attract students and provide high quality, research-led teaching. You will have completed your PhD (or be very near to completion), will have a record of excellence in published research appropriate to your career stage, and will have concrete plans for future internationally excellent research publications and/or projects. You will have the ability to contribute to the research culture in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. Your research and teaching development will be supported by a mentoring system within the Department and a range of departmental and faculty level teaching and research development activities.
