In reality we are talking about removing this piece of functionality or
marking it deprecated. As noted here it is not reliable. It is not just
Apache vs IIS. We have found that it depends on the network, its load,
even down to certain hardware. All of it is outside our control. As we
can't guarantee it will work we are debating removing it from the docs
and flagging it as unsupported.

Maybe there nust be a difference between the gateway on IIS and the
gateway on Apache - should log it with support maybe?
