The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman was quoted by tribunnews.com as saying that she was “optimistic” about winning people’s hearts in the next presidential election. “Despite the fact that I lost the last two [presidential elections], I will consider myself for a run again if there are a lot of requests from the people for me [to do so],” she said at Buleleng regency in Bali on Sunday. “We still receive much support whenever we visit our party’s local branches," she added. Megawati was speaking on the sidelines of a PDI-P rally endorsing Putu Agus Suradnyana and Nyoman Sutjidra in their bid to become regent and deputy regent. Previously, it was rumored that Megawati’s daughter, Puan Maharani, has been endorsed as the party’s presidential candidate.
