Minister Dahlan Iskan Helping to Build Islamic School in Singapore Jakarta Globe | September 27, 2012 Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises Minister D Indonesian State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan is reportedly busy developing a new Islamic boarding school in Singapore, in partnership with a Singaporean Muslim organization. Dahlan was scheduled to fly to the city-state on Thursday afternoon to attend a meeting with Singapore-based Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiah to discuss the project. “I am partnering with Al-Irsyad to build an Islamic boarding school,” Dahlan said in a text message to journalists, as quoted by the Indonesian news portal kontan.co.id. He added that Al-Irsyad would develop the curriculum for the school, and that Singapore’s Temasek Foundation had donated Rp 3 billion ($312,000) to support the construction. Part of the funds will also be used to provide learning facilities and pay the academic staff, Dahlan added.
