Indonesian State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan is reportedly busy
developing a new Islamic boarding school in Singapore, in partnership with a

Dahlan was scheduled to fly to the city-state on Thursday afternoon to attend a
meeting with Singapore-based Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiah to discuss the project.

“I am partnering with Al-Irsyad to build an Islamic boarding school,” Dahlan
said in a text message to journalists, as quoted by the Indonesian news portal
kontan.co.id.

He added that Al-Irsyad would develop the curriculum for the school, and that
Singapore’s Temasek Foundation had donated Rp 3 billion ($312,000) to support
the construction.

Part of the funds will also be used to provide learning facilities and pay the
academic staff, Dahlan added.

The privately owned Al-Irsyad reportedly runs primary and secondary Islamic
schools in Singapore.
