Team,
I'm stuck. I have a stock IOIO Mint board, and I need to communicate via
bluetooth to my Window 7 machine. I'm going to try and capture all the
technical details even though it's probably something basic, just in case
another n00b comes along and does a search. If I can just get some help in
figuring out where to look for log or other helpful info, maybe that'll get
me headed in the correct direction. Heck, I can even roll up a quick
script to talk over the serial line if I know what to send, if that's
helpful.
Side note: I'm not planning on becoming an android developer with this
project. I'm happy to run reputable apps from my phone to troubleshoot,
but my end goal is based purely on PC<->IOIO communication.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
*Critical symptom: The HelloIOIOConsole program doesn't seem to
successfully connect to my IOIO board.*
C:\IOIO>java -Dioio.SerialPorts=COM4 -jar HelloIOIOConsole.jar
[D/IOIOConnectionRegistry] Successfully added bootstrap class:
ioio.lib.pc.SerialPortIOIOConnectionBootstrap
[D/SerialPortIOIOConnectionBootstrap] Adding serial port COM4
[D/IOIOImpl] Waiting for IOIO connection
[V/IOIOImpl] Waiting for underlying connection
q
[D/IOIOImpl] Client requested disconnect.
[D/IOIOImpl] Connection lost / aborted
[D/IOIOBaseApplicationHelper] IOIOThread is exiting
*IOIO Details (from the IOIO Hardware Tester App running on my phone):*
IOIO Hardware: MINT0010
IOIO Bootloader: IOIO0304
IOIO Firmware: IOIO0324
Connection Type: Bluetooth
BT Dongle Address: 00:15:83:0C:BF:EB
Yellow LED light button toggles the light on the board successfully
Side Note: The phone is running Android 4.0.4, and the IOIO Manager doesn't
seem to push the 0400 version of the App, possibly because the standalone
App doesn't show "MINT0010". The Boot 0311 / App 0400 selection doesn't
work, either. I'm probably missing something silly, but it seemed like
such a simple process (connected via USB, and USB Debugging is selected).
*Windows Details:*
Using App-IOIO0330, as it's the same major revision as the firmware on the
board. Build dates were 19 NOV 2012, it appears (if there's an easier way
to confirm I'm running App-IOIO0330, I'll verify it).
Java JRE and JDK are 6 / 1.6 (I started with Java 7, too, but no joy
there, either, and the same symptoms)
C:\IOIO>java -version
java version "1.6.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_45-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.45-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
C:\IOIO>javac -version
javac 1.6.0_45
Bluetooth is paired, COM4 is the outgoing serial port. COM5 automatically
set up as the incoming serial port following the pairing. Images attached.
