Hi everyone,
I've been searching for an easy way to send data from iOS devices to IOIO. In my search I came across the Open Sound Control (OSC<http://opensoundcontrol.org/book/export/html/1>) protocol; which pointed me to an app called TouchOSC <http://hexler.net/>. Although TouchOSC is mainly used by DJ's who want to control their rigs using an iOS or Android device, it can also be used for other purposes. That said, I decided to give it a try. It was amazing. It took me just a couple of hours to have everything up and running since you don't have to write any code to use TouchOSC. I basically used a RN-XV WiFly <https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11047>module to allow TouchOSC to send OSC packet to the Android app; which parses them and passes the PWM values to the IOIO. Here is the preliminary result: http://youtu.be/qfeAFhPt2zg The next step will be to implement the remote control using the accelerometer in the apple device; which is also supported by TouchOSC. I know this approach may not be suitable to everyone since you still need an Android device between the IOIO and the iOS device. However, it fit perfectly my need since I didn't have another spare Android device and my son wanted to use his RC car again manually. I hope this helps others. Cheers! <https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-2QhszEZbvXg/U0jbdMJLWpI/AAAAAAAABPs/vJm2caSQT2E/s1600/IMG_0728.PNG> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ioio-users" group.
