Well, I had the WiFly sitting on the shelf from an old project.  On the 
other hand, I'd have to write extra code to use the 
android.net.wifi.WifiManager api; which I've not used before.

With the shield was very easy since I only had to plug it in and call 
ioio_.openUart(5, 4, 9600, Uart.Parity.NONE, Uart.StopBits.ONE);

However, you bring an good point.  If I had used the WifiManager, then I'd 
have to manage that communication outside the IOIO loop, right?
