I have an V1 IOIO HWID: SPRK0016 BootID: IOIO0303 FirmID: IOIO323 that is driven over adb/usb from a Nook SImple Touch running Android 2.1. The IOIO has been sitting on my workbench for the last 1-2 years so I forgot just about everything I knew about it until this week's effort. IOIO HW test manager won't run on my old version of android so I don't have that output.
None of the Java demo apps would talk talk to the unit until I tried 3.30 versions of the java apps on my mac. That makes sense, in hindsight, that the programs that worked were compiled against the same archive that built the firmware. Then I loaded my Nook/Android device with 3.23 versions of the android (apk) apps and they all communicated with my IOIO V1. I'm not sure why 3.30 apps work with 3.23 firmware. Maybe they are "close enough" for many functions. (Note: 3.30 is available on the downloads page. 3.23 is in the archives) How do I update the V1 firmware to a later version? I've loaded a bunch of different App-IOIOxxx.ioioapp bundles onto my Nook and tried each one in turn while I cycle the power on the IOIO V1. Nothing happens and the yellow light doesn't flicker. I do know that the IOIO Manager can see the device because it changes its message if I select "program firmware" and power/depower the IOIO V1. The messages changes based on whether or not the IOIO is powered up. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ioio-users" group.
