There should be no firmware software compatibility issues, since you're
using the latest firmware, which means it is compatible with any IOIOLib
version.
What do you mean by "no connection can be established?" Does pairing work?
If so, have you tried using the pre-built HelloIOIO.apk (included in the
software release bundle) to eliminate the possibility that you have a build
issue in your app?
