You shouldn't need to install anything to the IOIO board - the pre-loaded 
firmware simply interacts with any Android app you write. The Android 
application can expose/access the pins on the IOIO through the firmware and 
can enable different inputs or outputs such as analog/digital in/out, PWM, 
I2C, etc. 

If you're looking to interact with a Grove sensor, you only need to verify 
that the IOIO can physically interface with the sensor itself, from there, 
accessing the data supplied by the sensor should be a trivial coding 
matter.
