Perhaps some of the more experienced users can help with these problems.

I'm using a Nexus 7 2012 version. IOIO OTG board 5.03 firmware.

(1) Bluetooth - When my app is a debug version, it connects fine via
Bluetooth, but, when I export my app as a signed release and adb-install
it, it will no longer connect via Bluetooth. I tested with usb-debugging
on and off, same result.

(2) IOIO OTG as device.
(2a) If my app is closed and I plug the usb cable in, it opens the pop-up
asking which app I want to use and then connects fine.
(2b) If I open my app first and then connect the usb cable, it opens the
pop-up asking which app I want to use and then connects fine.
(2c) PROBLEM - If while connected as above, my app goes into the background
for a while then, when I bring it to the front, the connection is lost and
it wont re-connect.

(3) IOIO OTG as host. Same as (2)

Is this normal behaviour or is it unique to my setup.
 (1) is most peculiar to me and does not make sense.
(2) and (3) seems like the IOIO java code does not try and reconnect even
though it is aware that the connection is lost.
