Sorry. Indeed, I was trying to prevent the Android from drawing power from 
an external battery. I will try to switch to device mode - all I need is to 
get an OTG cable and plug that into the phone, right? (My phone does 
support OTG, but  only has the usual USB micro B plug, so I can't use the 
OTG cable that came with ioio board).
