Hi!

A couple of years ago I built a IOIO-based anemometer which has run on an
Android 2.3 device (Huawei Ideos) over ADB more or less 24/7 without a
problem. Unfortunately the phone was stolen so I need to replace it with a
new one. I have a Nexus 4 running Android 4.3 which I'm trying to connect
but are facing some connectivity problems.

>From reading posts here I understand that from Android 4.2.2, ADB is not
longer possible to use so I need to move to AOA (Bluetooth is not reliable
in my application due to low bandwidth and high latency/jitter and the fact
I'm not using firmware PulseInput).

Since my IOIO app was not built with IOIOAccessory lib I need to rebuild it
(unfortunately I don't have my development environment so I need to set a
new one up). Before doing that, my first step was to try to connect the
IOIO-OTG board with the Nexus 4 phone over AOA and use the IOIO Hardware
Tester app (latest from Google Play) to see if I could get that to work.

*I don't have any previous experience with AOA but I reckon I should get an
AOA popup when the IOIO board is connected to the phone. Right?*

However, there is no popup. This is what happens:

* When I connect the IOIO-OTG board to the phone the charge icon is lit
(trim pot. at its max) but no popup is displayed.
* Using a USB cable, the latest IOIO Hardware Tester app (which according
to the description supports AOA) won't connect.
* Using a Bluetooth adapter, IOIO Hardware Tester app connects and I can
toggle LED on/off.

This is what I have tried:

* Several different power supplies (ranging from 5 to 12 VDC).
* Several different USB cables.
* Turning Developer Mode on/off (not sure this matters when USB debugging
is not to be used).

My IOIO hw/sw versions:

IOIO board: IOIO-OTG SPRK0020
IOIO bootloader: IOIO0400
IOIO firmware: IOIO0500

Any ideas on how to debug this?

Best regards,
JP
