If I click on link tageted in ths same window, notihing happens; if I
click on a link targeted in a new window, a new window is open and
nothing happen then. Seems that that dialog is disappeared. If I right
click on the link and choose "Save link as", the download works
perfectly (that's how I'm using firefox right now).

I also tried again clearing the old download list as you suggested. Same
behavior.

My firewall settings allow all local connections.

Sorry, but I can't. The "Open dialog" does not exists anymore... I've
also tried to create a new firefox profile from scratch, just to be sure
that the problem did not depend on corrupted preference file. No result.

Thanks,
ciao
