I actually have a similar problem with one frame, or at least that's what I've noticed the most. I have a small frame in which I keep Gaim and XMMS (/me ducks), if I make it the width of the XMMS player then it begins to shift sizes and the tab tends to blink. I have to make it a bit bigger in order for this not to happen, I have also tested the frame without XMMS or Gaim opened and it still does that. I have Ion 3ds-20050820, I also have an nVidia card, and I've only seen this happen when I'm using one monitor and not doing dual-head on the same machine.
