I run ion3 under both Linux and MacOS X (combining ion and MacOS X
probably would cause cognitive dissonance for many) and I've been
noticing a problem with the way the "menu" provided by the standard
configuration works. Normally, I believe the menu is mapped to "F12"
but because this conflicts with the MacOS X "Expose" and "Dashboard"
stuff, I edited my "cfg_bindings.lua" file to map the menu to "F5"
instead.
I use the same configuration files on both Linux and MacOS X and when I
press "F5" under my Xorg based X server, the menu pops up and I can use
the arrow keys to navigate about and hit escape to make it go away.
However, when running ion3 under Apple's X11 X server (I am not using
quartzwm) I press "F5" but the arrow keys do nothing. Pressing escape
will close the menu, and clicking on menu items with the mouse works.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this or have any idea what
might be going wrong here? I don't think it is something as simple as
MacOS X grabbing my arrow key input, as they work just fine in every
other application running under the control of the ion window manager.
Furthermore, I don't expect that it is something to do with my choice
"F5", as the menu does come up and as far as I know nothing else in the
system is hooked into "F5".
