There appears to be a small typo in recent changes... You can get
around it by selecting a (working) locale/LC_CTYPE, which you should
do in any case.

This appears to have solved the tabbar label problem and introduced a
minor side effect on my installation of ion-3rc-20070708: the F12
”main menu” system tray input no longer accepts any keystrokes other
than the “tab” key. Not a big deal but typing “<F12> ex <tab>“ (for
auto completion to exit ion3) no longer works (for me).
