The next real step forward would be implementing the "vis" part of "vision", a toolkit that would build user interfaces to the user's preferences from a high-level semantic description of the program. But that is too big a task for me to undertake, at the moment at least, and really fighting against the windmills. (Just consider what happened to HTML... people are too obsessed with pixel-precise alignment of everything.) As for Ion, the old TODO list at <http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg00452.html> still has some unimplemented entries, most notably a new workspace module. Another new feature that I've been thinking about is a "scratchpad" that should help with popups (xmessage notifications, IM notifications, etc.). Additionally, I'll quite likely revamp the binding configuration system again :). So, yes, there are plans for Ion3. -- Tuomo
