Its far from ideal, but you could try setting automatic logging and check the log after you delete the window. As a side-note, What I would like to see in an IM client is a consistent chat history within windows - i.e. you open up a `new' IM to a contact and your entire conversation history is presented (at least until you ask it to be forgotten). The window after all can be considered one view onto the underlying model/data and deleting the view shouldn't affect the data (despite what Heisenberg suggests ;) ) -- Jon Dowland http://jon.dowland.name/
