This happened again today, and I tab completed. As a result ion crashed (immediately upon me hitting the tab key). Now that I think about it, this must be what has caused ion to crashed in the past aswell, since each time it has happened i got the feeing i accidentally hit some key below escape (always tended to happen when i escaped away from an F9 input prompt).

Anyways, just wanted to get back on it since you asked. However I understand that 'it crashed' it thoroughly useless as a problem report... I dunno if the lua interpreter is actually crashing or if ion exist due to some exception (if lua has those?). I'll try to get myself a coredump if it's the former and a stack trace and/or error message if the latter.

Yes! I had the exact same problem, except it was when I used Alt-A (Attach window) to move a window, and pressed Tab for a window list. Except no one believed me, since it only ever happened to me.

IIRC, a gdb and bt showed that it _seemed_ to be lua that caused it, but I am not experienced enough in these things to say for sure.

That said, I am now using a reasonably up to date version from svn, and haven't had that problem in a long time now.

you say 20040316, which I guess makes it March, and around that time was when the problem started to cause me a lot of grief.
So my suggestion to you is to use a more recent version of ion. Either the snapshot of the svn repo. Here's hoping your not one of those "must be in the package-management" types.
