Excellent very happy to hear you can make the presentation happen!

The meeting is WebEx (although we do have a F2F next week in Hillsboro, OR,
normally it is via WebEx). You’ll be able to download the details from the OCF
members website once you’ve joined. Let me know when you’re set up and I’ll
help get you on the agenda for one of the upcoming meetings.

Thanks again!

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for your compliment about the work.

I am not an OCF member yet. Should send the application for basic membership
this week.

It will be very interesting to discuss this work with the OCF Remote and
Bridging Security Task Group. I will prepare the presentation probably next
week or so. Are the discussions done via webex or is it face-t-face meeting? No
problem for the first case, 2nd case will need some travel approvals etc.

BR,

Khaled

Hi Khaled,

Thank you very much for this substantial contribution! I think it would be
very useful to OCF to hear about your project.

Have you joined OCF yet (basic membership is free)? I would really appreciate
if you could bring a short presentation describing the problem you’ve solved,
what you’ve done to solve it, and the overall design to the OCF Remote and
Bridging Security Task Group. I can help you prepare if needed. They have
done substantial work on specifying how to secure inter-ecosystem bridge
devices, and we can request feedback on how to extend the security model to
suit your project’s requirements.

Is that something you would be willing to do? It should be only an hour or so
to prepare (just outlining what you’ve done) and an hour meeting to present
(maybe 20 minutes?)

Thanks,
Nathan

Subject: [dev] First Release of MQTT OCF Gateway (Bridge)

Hi all,

I have released first version the MQTT OCF proxy (bridge) on github
https://github.com/kelsayed/mqtt-ocf. The readme file has all the details. In
summary, the server supports interconnecting MQTT publishers and subscribers to
OCF clients. The server binds the MQTT topic with an OCF resource and
transparent updates via the topic or OCF resource is then supported.

Future versions shall include a resource that can allow interested OCF clients
to publish their resource as MQTT topics. Still need to think of some good
security model to authenticate MQTT subscribers/publishers who would need to
access the resource/topic. Otherwise, it is a straight-forward extension of
current version.

I hope it is useful and can be a good element in the overall eco-system (of
course needs some or maybe many refinements to be production-ready).

Looking forward to the OCF/IoTivity community feedback. Don't hesitate to ask
any questions via the mailing lists or by filing github issues (preferred).

Best regards,

Khaled Elsayed
