-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Happy Valentine's Day! ESnet (Energy Sciences Network) is proud to announce the availability of iperf 3.4. Since the prior release (3.3, released in October 2017), this version adds some minor enhancements and fixes several bugs. Among the bugs fixed is a regression in which the iperf3 client would close its control connection before sending the end-of-test statistics to the server. More information on this and other changes is available in the RELEASE_NOTES file in the source distribution.
iperf 3.4 should be fully backward-compatible with prior iperf3 releases, that is, iperf 3.4 clients and servers should interoperate correctly with all 3.x clients and servers. Note however that users running iperf 3.4 with the bwctl utility (perhaps as a part of a perfSONAR 3.x installation) need to ensure they are using bwctl version 1.6.3 or newer. iperf3 is a tool for measuring the maximum TCP, UDP, and SCTP throughput along a path, allowing for the tuning of various parameters and reporting measurements such as throughput, jitter, and datagram packet loss. It is fully supported on Linux, FreeBSD, and macOS. It may run on other platforms as well, although it has not received the same attention and testing. Note that iperf3 is not compatible with, and will not interoperate with, version 2 or earlier of iperf.
