-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 ESnet (Energy Sciences Network) announces the availability of iperf 3.5. This release fixes a long-standing bug in which data transferred after the client terminates a test were still counted in the total data volume (and contributed towards inflating the measured bitrate). The bug was more likely to have an effect on short, --reverse direction transfers over slow, long paths. More information on this and other changes is available in the RELEASE_NOTES file in the source distribution.
iperf 3.5 should be fully backward-compatible with prior iperf3 releases, that is, iperf 3.5 clients and servers should interoperate correctly with all 3.x clients and servers. Note however that users running iperf 3.5 with the bwctl utility (perhaps as a part of a perfSONAR 3.x installation) need to ensure they are using bwctl version 1.6.3 or newer. iperf3 is a tool for measuring the maximum TCP, UDP, and SCTP throughput along a path, allowing for the tuning of various parameters and reporting measurements such as throughput, jitter, and datagram packet loss. It is fully supported on Linux, FreeBSD, and macOS. It may run on other platforms as well, although it has not received the same attention and testing. Note that iperf3 is not compatible with, and will not interoperate with, version 2 or earlier of iperf.
