I suggest you go ask on a NetBackup list. I know that in recent versions of NetBackup, there are various settings that allow you to specify the port ranges it uses, and if it requires them to be "privileged" or not. They're fairly well documented in the NetBackup manuals. I last touched this stuff in 2001, so I can't be more specific.

Also, if you are getting errors when attempting a backup, wouldn't the sensible thing to do be to take a look at what ipmon is logging, rather than asking us to be psychic?
