Are you sure the culprit is ipf? Do you see the problem with an empty
ruleset? If so, what does ipmon show? Does it indeed report some blocked
packets? What is the relevant (blocking) rule?
If the connection locks up in the middle, you could be seeing an MTU
issue (blocking only when a TCP segment of a sufficient size is to be
transmitted). Do you have any sort of tunnelling or encapsulation on the
path to sourceforge?
