The server with the issue has been moved to production. I will try truss
with the ipfstat command this weekend and see what happens. I plan to
reload the OS from scratch later this year, but I can't get anymore
downtime right now.
We normally have no problems building and using ipf.

The errors occur when trying to use the ipf or ipfstat commands:
/sbin/ipfstat -i
ld.so.1: ipfstat: fatal: t.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
/sbin/ipf -f /etc/opt/ipf/ipf.conf
ld.so.1: ipf: fatal: et.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
..
And using truss tells you...?
If you are having too many inexplicable problems, disconnect the box from
the network, reinstall and copy files over via CD to satisfy the paranoia.
