I do the opposite, install only SUNWCreq and a few other things that
real systems can't live without. :)

those are the RealThing and many people like them. the GNU
"replacements" have lots of stupid little bugs that make them not
worth it, at least for me.

what exactly do you find wrong with those base utilities anyway?
just curious :) I can imagine some people like colour in their ls
output, but I don't know what you'd want out of replacing ps or df.
