But isn't that an enormously long task (which will lose any other changes / updates you have made on your device) just to get the layout of apps back? Or am I missing something? I wish they had a way to save and restore the layout/configuration to / from a Mac or PC (in iTunes). Similarly, I'm not keen to spend a long time setting up 100s of apps in Launchpad if I can't guarantee a quick save/restore. Probably just a preference file in this case though.
