Sure, but they are clearly still supporting AIM as well, and Jabber. There 
would be no reason to REMOVE the AIM video, would there? It's not a threat of 
any sort. 

I have removed all the Aim/iMac accounts for Messages, it's been two years 
since I used iChat at all for IM, despite having many dozens of people on it.  
I use the iMessage functionality every day though, many times, with quite a lot 
of people.
