Well - we got our 2 new AT&T LTE iPads an hour ago. We followed the instructions given to us by AT&T yesterday for migrating - which included moving the old SIM card to the new iPad.
When I did that, and started going through the Cellular settings, I got a message saying the SIM was not an LTE SIM. So I called AT&T and a rep walked us through the process. The new AT&T LTE iPad requires using the sim that comes with the new iPad - an LTE SIM. We then successfully moved our grandfathered unlimited data plans. Sadly, when testing the speed running LTE, we got 3G speeds. So I talked to a tech specialist inquiring. They said that LTE was not supported in my area (West Seattle) for DATA on iPad. But when I check for 4G coverage in my area, I see this: http://www.kevincallahan.org/4GcoverageWestSeattle.png She said that it IS supported for an LTE phone device, including DATA on an LTE phone in my area. She said the towers handling data for phones are different than towers handling data for iPads. She couldn't tell me when LTE data for iPads would be supported in my area. I wonder how accurate this information from this particular AT&T specialist is ? K
