I purchased a rather interesting headset yesterday at the Bestbuy Store where I live in Winnipeg. I did not choose them because of any kind of musical audio quality but rather, because:

1. When paired with IPhone they support call answering/disconnect, music (winding forward, backward, skipping songs etc). 2. I wanted something which would not exclude any of the usual audio cues us blind folk love so much. They do dampen a little, more subtle things like my ability to detect larger items, like buildings, fences, bushes, and anybody bigger than me. These things are still doable and in Winnipeg, we need to cover our ears usually for about 4 months of the year and these coverings are more exclusion; you either adjust or very probably freeze off an ear or two.

Besides ear buds, all of which hate me any (the feeling is mutual) what are other folks using. Seems to me that, many years ago, I did see a headset with tubes which slightly entered the ear canal without blocking any other sounds virtually whatsoever.

All input gratefully accepted.

Doug: Ear today, gone tomorrow.
