Since Adam (mentioned in the following forward) wrote to me and not the list, the list never got information which I believe would be helpful to some. That's partly all right since I included information on an in-ear headset which is not wireless. It is the less expensive of the two mentioned below. Since you have Bestbuy in the US, I suspect they will have the same brands, though at likely different prices. My original message follows:

Adam, after checking the Canadian Bestbuy website, I'll probably be going back to the store to check out some other Rocketfish listening ear devices.

The excellent clerk did exactly what I had asked and found the "over-the-ear" model I've had for a day. They cost $49 Canadian and I'd suggested you might give these a try since Bestbuy has what I think a much more than reasonable return policy. The usual thing, all supplied materials must be returned in original packing...etc etc etc.

The model number I currently have is:

Rocketfish Over-the-Ear Headset (RF-CNA3)

Since the buttons have multi-functions, and the documentation (for those who have OCR capacity) uses a damnable mixture of text and graphics so that it makes little sense, be sure to sit down with the particular associate and learn the multiple functions of each button as they relate to your phone.

I will be looking at two in-ear models probably today or tomorrow. Note that in ear does not mean Earbuds--damn I hate those things.

RocketFish In-Ear Headset (RF-JJX15-T)$64

Rocketfish In-Ear Headset (RF-KNJ3) $27.00 (this one is not wireless but may be useful for some and the price seems impressive.)

If neither gives me any clearer "open audio" I'll probably purchase the one of the two which meets my phone needs best since my present model does tend towards warming the ears a little, probably not so bad in a northern latitude fall or spring. Due to operational temperature limits, they are no winter replacement for required ear coverings.

I am also looking for some form of ear speakers that don't block my aural situational awareness. I'm a cyclist and just can't block out the sounds of traffic and feel secure. But my iPhone has a program which can give audio cues and I'd really like to be able to hear those without blocking out the rest of the world. So something like Doug describes, with tubes feeding sound into my ears would be great. My wife's hearing aids work like that but are a bit pricey for my use even if they can interface with her iPhone.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Besides ear buds, all of which hate me any (the feeling is mutual) what are other folks using. Seems to me that, many years ago, I did see a headset with tubes which slightly entered the ear canal without blocking any other sounds virtually whatsoever.
