I'm wondering if anyone has seen these issues or has managed to solve them:
When I attempt to charge my iPad (iPad Air 2, iOS 11.1.1), I connect it directly to a USB port on my iMac (no hubs, or anything between the iMac and iPad other than the actual cable). One of four things happens: 1. It shows charging, then quickly changes to appear like it disconnected (as if it's not connected at all), then quickly shows charging, then disconnected, and goes rapidly back and forth like this. 2. It shows charging for 1-2 seconds, then shows "Not charging" next to the battery indicator. 3. It shows charging, but simply doesn't. The battery percentage continues to drop as though it were not plugged in 4. It charges slowly Obviously (4) is the best outcome. I can almost - but not always - resolve the others with a hard restart of the iPad. (1) happens with my iPhone (6, iOS 11.1.1) also, but less frequently. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks, Jeff
