HI: This just happened to me:
I have an iPhone 6 (plain) and AT&T is my carrier. I upgraded to iOS12 Tuesday. Immediately after the upgrade, I got a notice to update my carrier settings, which I did. Today (Thursday)I received a text message from AT&T saying: AT&T Free Msg: To complete your recent software update, please power off and restart your device. I saw no harm in powering off even if it was spam (maybe naive, but I did it). so I did. Immediately upon powering on again, I received the same text message again. Has this happened to anyone else? Any idea what's going on? Thanks! Jeff
