Has anyone gotten the iPhone's Personal Hotspot to work using only a USB cable?
The instructions in Settings -> Personal Hotspot are vague: TO CONNECT USING USB 1. Plug iPhone into your computer. 2. Choose iPhone from the list of network services in your settings. What does step 2 mean exactly? On my Mac, in Sys Prefs -> Network the iPhone does show up as a network interface, but as "Not Connected. Either the cable for iPhone USB is not plugged in or the device is not responding." Tried different cables, different USB ports, rebooting, etc. No joy. Has anyone ever done this? Does it even work?
