The short story is that Joe Hewitt pretty much built iUI as it is.
Christopher and I rounded out the Google Code site a little and talked
to Joe to get the licensing sorted out. With input from Christopher, I
created the build and release system and made the last two releases.

I plan on doing some development with iUI in the near future and will
begin looking at new releases. I am no Joe Hewitt, though. I'm a
server side Java (and Groovy) developer, not an AJAX wizard (but hope to
be one someday ;))

Anyone who wants to contribute to a next release (tentatively called
0.20) should start/join the discussion on
http://groups.google.com/group/iui-developers

I'd say the release process should be something like this:

1) Prioritize bug reports and patch submissions
2) I'll apply "approved" patches to SVN
3) Create alpha and beta releases
4) Get test feedback
5) Make an 0.20 release

I'm not sure what the time frame for a release would be. I've been very
busy and have not been keeping up with this list. I haven't had time to
look at bugs and patches, but I will soon. I think we should get the
low hanging fruit done and shoot for an alpha release in 2-3 weeks, with
a final release in another 2-4 weeks depending upon how good of testing
we can get done.

Christopher and I have also talked about trying to put some contribution
guidelines on the wiki -- like at http://webkit.org
http://webkit.org/quality/reporting.html
http://webkit.org/quality/reduction.html
http://webkit.org/coding/contributing.html

This would help increase the quality of bugs and patches and make it
easier to incorporate them into new releases.

These are my current thoughts, at least. I wish I had more time. But
I will make an effort to keep up with discussion on the developer list.
And will work on keeping up with this list and the bug DB.
