ade, If it got the job done, then fine, but don't be surprised if your app gets lower ratings than someone else who wrote it as a native app.
My point was that native apps offer better performance. Download Slots! and iSlots from the app store and you will see what I mean. I ported Slots! from my web app, and compared to iSlots(a competitor) theirs works much smoother and is more responsive (even though mines got more downloads). I did the same as you, just took my existing web apps and wrapped them in a UIWebKit window, but I can tell you for a fact the the performance is nowhere near what I could of gotten by re-writing it in Objective-C (which I have no time to re-learn). With the help of big5/ phonegap, I was able to add support for vibrate, simple sounds, and geolocation.
