There are a lot of choices out there, I think you pick something that
works for you and go with it.

Mainly I've been following 3 criteria.

1) Keep as much functionality server side as possible.
2) keep a consistent user interface between web application and native
applications. As of a couple months ago I switched from writting web
applications to writting web hybrids, or native apps that mirror web
applications. (web application is a limited subset of native app)
3) where possible seperate data source from main coding. ie. data
access is seperate component.


I suspect there will be a shakeout soon, You used to hear a lot about
iphone apps using gwt , but you don't hear much anymore, same with
asp/.net. (although .net may be on the rise again).
