I tried it, but..

While it replaces the original custom titled back button with a generic
"Back" button, the actual behavior is pretty much the same:

Links will work until I the moment I use the 'mailto:' link. After that, no dice. The only links that will still work are those that require no
animation, like a phone link, a google maps link, or a video link.

Questions:

- Does anyone actually know whether it's a history problem or an
animation problem?

- How hard is it to make the sliding 'keyframe based' in Webkit/CSS3,
instead of Javascript based, as I believe one forum user has suggested?
(While I kid myself I have some idea what I'm saying here, I don't know
how big the implications would be. At all...)

Any chance that would solve the problem? Is there a way to do a proof of
concept?

- <wishfulthinking> Is there a way to _force_ Mobile Safari to
actually open and use the Mail app, instead of using the MessageUI
Framework? </wishfulthinking>
